Over two years has lapsed and much has happened in that time. I am in a new location with much more radio equipment - and yet with greater limitations on antenna and receiver use.

The rather odd title of this blog is familiar enough to radio enthusiasts the world over. It is the SINPO CODE.

SINPO is the acronym for signal, interference, noise, propagation, and overall, is a code used to describe the quality of most radio transmissions, especially in reception reports written by those who listen to out of area stations as a hobby.

Each letter of the code stands for a specific factor of the signal, and each item is graded on a 1 to 5 scale (where 1 stands for very bad and 5 for very good).
